Our Camp Story

After several years of collaborating with each other, Jane and Melanie decided to join forces and create POWER Play Kids in 2013. Their shared desire to create a dynamic experience for children that combined support across multiple developmental domains, a commitment to an active, engaged learning style, a focus on nature, and an awareness of the power of play resulted in POWER Play Kids!

Jane and Melanie lead a team of assistants who share the same respect for childhood development and curiosity. Together they create a camp experience that is positive, warm, and nurturing. Many of their assistants are teachers, college students enrolled in a pediatric therapy program, or local high school students interested in pursuing careers with children.  The staff of POWER Play Kids receive training in both the Social Thinking and The Zones of Regulation curriculums.
